Highly anticipated by fans of the manga/anime source material, shooting on Netflix‘s One Piece live-action adaptation is now underway. Thanks to Twitter user @OP_Netflix_Fan, we now have a first look at the Straw Hat Pirates’ first full-sized ship, The Going Merry, along with other ships and places from the show.
The real-life version of the ship faithfully replicates its jib and a central steer rudder orientation, complete with its signature sheep figurehead. Other ships photographed on set include The Red Force used by Shanks and the Red Hair Pirates, and the beloved Baratie ocean-going restaurant. Images also show Loguetown, Windmill Village and Gol D. Roger’s execution platform.
From the imagery, it appears that the One Piece live-action adaptation has developed an accurate yet realistic view of the franchise’s universe. Though it remains unclear just how close the story will follow the source material.
Take a look at The Going Merry and more from Netflix’s One Piece live-action adaptation below.
