Nintendo has shared a new trailer for its title with Monolith Software, Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The open-world RPG, which is scheduled to launch for Nintendo Switch on July 29, is set after the events of the previous games of the series and centers on the war between the nations Keves and Agnus.
Taking place in the world of Aionios, the game follows the journey of six characters, two of whom are off-seers, soldiers tasked with playing special flutes to mourn the passing of the dead. Protagonists Noah and Mio are off-seers from Keves and Agnus, respectively, and are accompanied on their journeys by friends and fellow soldiers.
“Characters hailing from those nations will take part in a grand tale with “life” as its central theme,” Nintendo said in a press release.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was first announced in February for a September release, which was later shifted to the July date. The original game in the series, Xenoblade Chronicles, was released in Japan in 2010, followed by Xenoblade Chronicles 2 in 2017.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 launches for Nintendo Switch on July 29.
