Intercept Music, a global music marketing and distribution company that describes itself as a revolutionary technology platform, launched an expanded suite of services Tuesday (April 12). Founded by music and tech industry veterans, with hip-hop icon Method Man as a stakeholder, Intercept also claims partnerships with INgrooves, AMPED Distribution, What’s In Store Music, Rocket Songs and Nerve, a banking app for music creators — all of which fuel Intercept’s capabilities and services to its artist and label clients.
Targeting indie labels and artists who own their recorded masters, whether they be established or DIY acts, Intercept says it provides a suite of tools that allow rights owners to monetize and market their music. The company charges a fee for clients while promising monthly revenue payments and access to real-time royalty earnings.
“Our goal at Intercept Music is to give voice to emerging and established artists and labels by providing the tools they need to succeed,” said Intercept Music chairman Ralph Tashjian in a statement. “Forging a powerful partnership with Method Man, Intercept underscores the value and promise of artistic emancipation in today’s creator economy.”
Each client will get their own dashboard allowing them to access detailed analytics, social media and a suite of marketing tools, including the capability for customizable promotional services. Naturally, as part of that, the company says it facilitates the distribution of music to hundreds of digital stores and every major streaming platform, as well as the sale of merchandise through branded online stores and physical music formats through AMPED Distribution.
Intercept’s capabilities also cover advertising, radio and playlisting promotional services and social media marketing, all through the dashboard provided to clients.
In addition to being a stakeholder in Intercept, Method Man, a founding member of the Wu-Tang Clan who has evolved into acting with numerous film and TV credits under his belt, also serves as an adviser to the company. Moreover, the Intercept platform launch features a short video clip with Method Man cementing the company’s branding.

“Method Man is a global icon and the living embodiment of ‘independence empowered,” Intercept Music CEO Tod Turner said in a statement. “With the rise of creators who seek creative solutions to their financial futures, I can think of no better partner to launch our enterprise, which is focused on advanced technologies for the entertainment industry. We’re excited about what we will achieve together while arming indie artists and labels with new power tools to achieve their wildest artistic ambitions.”
