A month out from the film’s release, Marvel Studios has shared another trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Stephen Strange.
The minute-long video opens with a dark and gloomy Sanctum Sanctorum before cutting to Rachel McAdams’ Christine Palmer walking down the aisle in a wedding dress as Strange watches on.
Strange suffers from a recurring nightmare of the Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen, speaking on the event of her missing sons. The inclusion of the character may mean a continuation of her storyline from the Disney+ series WandaVision.
“Strange, the fate of the multiverse depends on us,” Strange’s mentor Wong, played by Benedict Wong, tells him. The trailer goes on to tease a showdown between Strange and his former mentor and now enemy, Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Karl Mordo, who warns him that the path he has chosen “exacts a heavy toll.”
Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits theaters on May 6 and tickets are now on sale.
