Tonight at the 2022 Oscars, Colombian singer and songwriter Sebastián Yatra performed “Dos Oruguitas” from Disney’s hit animated film Encanto. “Dos Oruguitas” was nominated at tonight’s show for Best Original Song. The track was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Check it out below.
The song lost out to Billie Eilish and Finneas’ James Bond song “No Time to Die.” Others nominated for Best Original Song included Beyoncé’s King Richard number “Be Alive” and pieces from Belfast and Four Good Days, written by Van Morrison and Diane Warren, respectively.
Later in the evening, the cast of Encanto performed the soundtrack’s hit song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.” Megan Thee Stallion, Luis Fonsi, and Becky G also joined in for the performance. Encanto won Best Animated Feature Film and was nominated for Best Original Score, the latter of which was penned by Germaine Franco.
