Honda Brings Back its ST125 Dax Mini Bike

Honda has announced the revival of its 1969 Dax ST125 mini-motorcycle for Europe. The name “Dax” is derived from “Dachshund,” the petite dog breed also known as the sausage dog. Honda’s miniMOTOs are in fact one of the brand’s most popular offerings, with other cult-favorite bikes including the Cub, Grom, and Monkey.

The 2023 Dax bike is defined by a distinct T-shaped steel frame chassis, thick leather seat, tall handlebars, 31mm forks, 12-inch five-spoke wheels, and a raised muffler design. Powering the bike is a 124cc air-cooled SOHC two-valve engine inherited from fellow Honda miniMOTO Super Cub, capable of reaching up to 55 mph at an output of just 9.3 horsepower. Honda also claims the tiny 1.5-gallon fuel tank can run up to 150 miles. Additional features include an LCD dashboard, LED head and taillights, twin rear shocks, a four-speed gearbox, and chrome fenders.

The 2023 ST125 Dax motorcycle in “Pearl Cadet Grey” and “Pearl Nebula Red” will be initially available exclusively in Europe with prices and official launch dates to follow. Images of the original Honda Dax can be found here.
