Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn shut down reports of a possible prequel storyline, reminding fans of the relationship between Thanos, Nebula and Gamora.
A tweet claimed that the Guardians of the Galaxy prequel series will focus on “Gamora’s family-like relationship with Nebula and Thanos,” to which Gunn responded, “lol no – he tortured them, not exactly a “family-like” relationship.” While the filmmaker did not directly deny any involvement of Thanos and Nebula in the supposed prequel series, he made sure to clarify that any so-called familial relationship the three had was not familial at all.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to hit theaters on May 5, 2023 and will see a cast comprised of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone and Will Poulter.
