Live-Action ‘Fullmetal Alchemist’ Films Drop First Look at Hohenheim, Bradley and More

In celebration of the anime and manga’s 20th anniversary, two live-action sequel films to 2017’s live-action adaptation of Fullmetal Alchemist were announced, and fans have now been treated to a first look at some of the characters.

Featured above, the new photos showcase four of the beloved anime’s key players, including Van Hohenheim, King Bradley, Ling Yao and Olivier Mira Armstrong, portrayed by Seiyo Uchino, Hiroshi Tachi, Keisuke Watanabe, and Chiaka Kuriyama respectively. The group will be joined by returning actors Ryosuke Yamada and Atomu Mizuishi as brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric as well as director Fumihiko Sori.

As for the films themselves, the first to release will be Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter — The Avenger Scar, focusing on the revenge of the titular villain against the state military and its alchemists, followed by Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter — The Last Transmutation, which revolves around the final arc of the manga.

For fans of the franchise, The Avenger Scar will drop on May 20, while The Last Transmutation will arrive on June 24.

Elsewhere in entertainment, The Boys receives a Season 3 teaser trailer.
