Joey Bada$$ has delivered his brand new single, “Head High.”
Clocking in at three minutes, the cut features production from the legendary Statik Selektah and hears the rapper reflect on losing his closest friends, including XXXTentacion and Capital Steez. As he dives into the introspective thoughts of sudden death and making the most out of life, Joey Bada$$ also reminds himself and his listeners to keep their heads high until they are buried six feet under.
Taking to Twitter to promote the single, the rapper called it “one of the best, purest & realest songs” he’s ever created. “I NEED ALL MY REAL FANS & SUPPORTERS TO KEEP HEAD HIGH ON REPEAT ALL MONTH. LETS SHOW THE INDUSTRY THAT YOU CAN HAVE A HIT RECORD FROM A HEARTFELT CLASSIC RAP SONG,” he added in a separate tweet. “HEAD HIGH NEEDS A PLAQUE AND THATS ON X & STEELO LETS GO.”
