Bethesda Is Shutting Down Its PC Game Launcher

Unfortunately for fans of Bethesda, the developer will soon be shutting down its PC game launcher.

According to Engadget, the Microsoft-owned studio is planning on ceasing operations for its own game launcher by May, and gamers will have access to the service until then. Of course, it won’t mean you’ll lose access to your games: beginning from April, you’ll be able to move your game collection over to Steam, including your Bethesda friends list as well. While nearly all save data will be transferable, you’ll need to manually copy some of the save files over to your Steam folder.

It’s important to note that for the time being, Wolfenstein: Youngblood saves will not be functional over on Steam, and Fallout 76 players will have to renew their subscriptions manually over on Steam as of April after their membership ends. As for Bethesda.net accounts, gamers will still be using them to log into titles from the developer as well as the company’s website itself. More details will be revealed in the coming months, so those on the platform should be on the lookout for more information to come.
