After much anticipation, fans are finally rewarded with a release date for Square Enix‘s upcoming pixel remaster of Final Fantasy VI.
Announcing the new date over on Twitter, the developer has revealed that the remastered version of the classic title will be launching on February 23 for both PC via Steam and mobile platforms on their respective app stores. While the game is a remaster, Square Enix has endeavored to stay true to its original essence, employing the help of the title’s original character designer Kazuko Shibuya to revamp its graphics. Final Fantasy VI‘s original composer Nobuo Uematsu has also returned to rearrange a new soundtrack for fans, making this pixel remaster a truly unique yet l0yal project. Other new features include auto-battle options as well as a bestiary.
