Drake – Fair Trade ft Travis Scott

Check out this jam from Drake – “Fair Trade” featuring Travis Scott. Certified Lover Boy is the sixth studio album by Canadian rapper and singer Drake. It was released on September 3, 2021, by OVO Sound and Republic Records.

Its production was handled by frequent collaborators 40, Nineteen85, PartyNextDoor, OZ, and Vinylz, among others. Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Giveon, Jay-Z, Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, Yebba, 21 Savage, Project Pat, Tems, Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and Kid Cudi appear as guest artists.

Drake’s “Fair Trade” is more personal than ever, it is the sixth track off the album.

The sonic arrangement samples bouncy electronic instrumentation that sounds lively and trappy; it flows out continuously as Drake and Travis Scott unfolds their lives story on personal levels with it.

From the intro, Drake and Charlotte Day Wilson express a simple reason why you should take them as they are and emphatically say it is senseless to see them being someone else, perhaps, because they value what they’ve become.

Drake becomes proud of himself gliding through the beats waves and says he is feeling young, and then they treat him like an OG.

So personal as he glides through exposing his thoughts about imitation and says it isn’t flattery, he calls it annoying coupled with his likes and dislikes he unearths during verse one.

Meanwhile, the chorus was him being as personal as he can be. While he calls losing friends and finding peace at 29, fair trade, and on various levels aside self, Drake mints his listeners a share of his perspective.

How he takes life, lives it regardless of how much he has been misunderstood while he claims to retract resentment from his heart and calls it maturity.

Travis Scott’s vocal range doesn’t get worse or terrible on this record as it goes through the wavy structure as much as he outliers himself to express his state of mind coupled with his perspective like Drake has done.

While the record is more personal and driven by their own experiences, the record outro helmed by Charlotte Day Wilson sounds more like a chorister’s effort, and it was satisfactory.
