Alf Clausen, Ex-Simpsons Composer, Drops Lawsuit Against Fox Over Firing

Alf Clausen, the Emmy-winning composer who scored more than 560 episodes of The Simpsons across 27 years, was fired from the show in 2017. In 2019, he sued Fox for wrongful termination over his firing from the show. In the complaint, he alleged that his age and disability were factors in his firing. Clausen has now dropped the lawsuit, Variety reports.

In August 2020, a judge dismissed Clausen’s age discrimination portion of the lawsuit but allowed for his disability discrimination claim to proceed. Clausen’s attorney Ebby Bakhtiar told Variety that the lawsuit was dropped as it “appeared likely” that the justices would rule against him. “We caught a very, very conservative panel,” Bakhtiar said. “I think he got screwed.”
