Pepsi has dropped off the official trailer for the Super Bowl LVI halftime show featuring Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar and Dr. Dre.
Directed by F. Gary Gary, the visionary behind Straight Outta Compton, the visual sees the five artists prepare to take the stage outside of SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
“Each time I collaborate with Dre, it seems to mark an important moment in entertainment history, from projects like Friday, Set It Off, Straight Outta Compton, to now the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show,” Gary said in a statement. “As a super fan, I consider it an honor and privilege to authentically build and create this moment with five of the most legendary artists in music history. It’s been a blast!”
As the upcoming event will mark the first Super Bowl to take place in the Los Angeles area in 30 years, the halftime show, produced by JAY-Z, includes three West Coast artists — Dre, Lamar and Snoop Dogg — along with two of Dre’s most-esteemed collaborators, Eminem and Blige.
“The opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, and to do it in my own backyard, will be one of the biggest thrills of my career,” said Dr. Dre. “I’m grateful to JAY-Z, Roc Nation, the NFL, and Pepsi as well as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar for joining me in what will be an unforgettable cultural moment.”
The Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show will take place on February 13, 2022, broadcasting on NBC and Telemundo and streaming live on Peacock.
