‘Fortnite’ Returns to iOS Via NVIDIA GeForce NOW

‘Fortnite’ Returns to iOS Via NVIDIA GeForce NOW

Epic GamesFortnite is making its awaited return to iOS through NVIDIA GeForce NOW.

As confirmed by NVIDIA, Fortnite will be available on iOS via the Safari web browser and on Android via through the GeForce NOW app for a limited-time closed beta test. “Alongside the amazing team at Epic Games, we’ve been working to enable a touch-friendly version of Fortnite for mobile delivered through the cloud,” NVIDIA shared in a blog post. “While PC games in the GeForce NOW library are best experienced on mobile with a gamepad, the introduction of touch controls built by the GeForce NOW team offers more options for players, starting with Fortnite.”

Registration for the beta is open now for all GeForce NOW members who can help test the server capacity, graphics delivery and new touch controls performance. Members will be allowed to enter the beta in batches in the coming weeks.

Fortnite was banned from the App Store in September 2021 as Epic Games and Apple entered a heated legal battle. “Late last night, Apple informed Epic that Fortnite will be blacklisted from the Apple ecosystem until the exhaustion of all court appeals, which could be as long as a 5-year process,” Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney wrote in a tweet, with an image of a letter from Apple’s lawyers.

Elsewhere in gaming, the Xbox One has been completely discontinued.
