Dave, Little Simz and Ghetts picked up top prizes at last night’s MOBO Awards, in what was the first live version of the event since 2017.
The MOBOs, which is an annual British music award presentation which honors achievements in “music of black origin”, took a two-year break in 2017, before a virtual ceremony was held last year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On its return rapper Dave bagged one of the night’s top prizes by winning the best album for his second record We’re All Alone In This Together, beating grime veteran Ghetts who still managed to win his first MOBO for best male act.
Following the release of Sometimes I Might Be Introvert earlier this year, Little Simz was named as the best female act, while MC Central Cee claimed two awards for best newcomer and the inaugural best drill act award.

In other music news, Spotify has named Drake, Bad Bunny and ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ as the most-streamed artists and podcast of 2021.
