Arsenal are keen on improving their attacking options and they have identified the Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic as a potential target.
According to Tuttosport (h/t Sportwitness), Juventus are keen on signing the Serbian international striker as well and the two clubs are set to battle it out for the 21-year-old.
Vlahovic has been exceptional for Fiorentina for over a year now and he is capable of playing at a higher level with the likes of Juventus and arsenal.
The Serbian scored 21 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions last season and he has followed it up with 14 goals in 16 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
The 21-year-old has immense potential and he could be the ideal long term replacement for the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette at the Emirates Stadium.
If the Gunners manage to pull off his signature in January, it would give them a massive boost in their quest for a top-four finish in the Premier League.
Previously, there have been reports that the Gunners are willing to fork out a massive amount of money to sign the young Serbian striker and it remains to be seen whether they are prepared to come forward and table a concrete offer now.
The report also adds that Arsenal have already taken some important steps to sign the 21-year-old striker and the Londoners have made progress in recent days.
Tuttosport believe that Vlahovic would prefer to stay in Italy and therefore Juventus have an edge in the transfer chase.
Meanwhile, the striker has a contract with Fiorentina until 2023 and he has refused to sign an extension.
Fiorentina will obviously be looking to recoup as much as possible for the young striker and will be interesting to see if they decide to cash in on him midway through the season when the transfer window reopens in January.
Either way, it seems that Vlahovic’s time at Fiorentina could be up soon.
