Disney+ has released the latest teaser for The Book of Boba Fett, Lucasfilm‘s upcoming series that was first unveiled in the end-credit sequence following the season two finale of The Mandalorian.
The 30-second visual teases the story of the bounty hunter’s survival after falling in the horrifying Sarlacc pit in Star Wars: Episode VI — Return of the Jedi and the process of reviving the titular character in the aftermath. “I am Boba Fett,” a voiceover declares. “Left for dead on the sands of Tatooine.”
The upcoming show “finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the Galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate,” according to Disney’s official synopsis.
Temuera Morrison will return in the role of Boba Fett and Ming-Na Wen will once again depict Fennec Shand, after playing the role in season one of The Mandalorian and voice acting for the part in the animated series Star Wars: The Bad Batch.
In tandem with the new teaser, Disney+ has announced that The Book of Boba Fett will run seven episodes long, each of which will be released on a weekly basis. The series will premiere on Disney+ on December 29.
