The 2023 Acura Integra “Prototype” Has Officially Been Revealed

The 2023 Acura Integra “Prototype” Has Officially Been Revealed

The Acura Integra is back. Revealed just moments ago, Acura took fans back in time — pre RSX days — for the unveiling of the 2023 Integra in Indy Yellow.

Paying homage to the DC2 Integra that has amassed an army of devote tuners and weekend racers thanks to its superb handling and legendary B18C engine (before K-swaps were a thing), the new Integra was made to connect with consumers on an emotional and performance level.

On the exterior, the new Integra now features a dramatic sloping roofline and liftback tailgate. This gives the five-door sports-compact a coupe-like road presence. The Integra also sees the manufacturer’s new frameless Diamond Pentagon grille in between updated “Chicane” LED daytime running lights which are now positioned above the Integra’s JewelEye LED headlights. The powertrain has also been revamped for modern times as gone is the NA engine and in its place is a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine with VTEC. This will be offered in a six-speed manual option with an LSD where it will make around 200 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque.

“The Integra is one of the most iconic models in Acura’s history,” said Jon Ikeda, Vice President and Acura Brand Officer. “This new Integra, will continue to deliver on the original’s unique aspirational yet attainable market position, with emotional performance and style, combined with the versatility and utility sought after by today’s buyers.”

Other details include a decklid spoiler, original “Integra” name placement, dual-exhaust finishers, 19-inch split-five spoke wheels, Brembo Brakes (not confirmed for production model), and wing mirror caps. While this “Prototype” only serves as a teaser, the past has shown us that Honda/Acura’s “Prototype” pre-production models are very close to the final production release. The official MSRP upon release will be approximately $30,000 USD.
