Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s position at Manchester United look very uncertain at the moment.
Despite heavy investments in the summer transfer window, the Norwegian boss has failed to revive the fortunes of the club.
The Red Devils are currently sixth in the Premier League table, having lost four matches so far.
One of their most humiliating defeats came last month when Liverpool stunned them by claiming a 5-0 victory.
However, United’s performance against Manchester City on Saturday was also highly disappointing as Pep Guardiola’s side completely dominated them to earn an easy 2-0 win.
Solskjaer is under huge pressure following this defeat and his position at Old Trafford look very precarious now.
According to CaughtOffside, Brendan Rodgers has verbally agreed to take charge at Manchester United. However, he would reportedly prefer to wait until next season to take over.
It is said that significant progress has been made towards securing a deal, but some hurdles still remain.
He is currently the manager of Leicester City, with the 48-year-old joining the East Midland outfit in February 2019 after the sacking of Claude Puel.
He led the Foxes to a fifth-place finish in the Premier League in his first full season.
Leicester secured another fifth-place finish last season under the Irish boss.
Rodgers also led them to the FA Cup title for the first time in their history in 2021, with his side defeating Chelsea 1-0 in the final.
