If there’s one season that H&M really excels at it is winter. Perhaps it’s the Scandi heritage or the understanding of what makes a really good coat, but I always find that its strongest collections drop in store at this time of year. This week the weather has truly turned—it’s dark before 5pm and you can now see your breath when you leave the house in the morning. The only silver lining to this is it means that you can start wearing fabulous coats, and H&M has lots to offer in that department.
When it comes to coats it has really nailed quilted and puffer coats, with oversized silhouettes which make everything look so much more expensive. There’s also some amazing shearling hooded styles and wool-blend wrap coats. As for knitwear, there’s lots of chunky ribbed knits in caramels, soft blues and creams. A winter outfit wouldn’t be complete without an excellent pair of boots, and H&M has really leaned into the chunky boot trend with thick-soled ankle boots that will go with anything.
