On October 29, Big Sean and American record producer Hit-Boy released their collaborative six-track EP What You Expect that features appearances from Lil Durk, Bryson Tiller, Babyface Ray and 42 Dugg. The creative duo has been working together for the past decade and recently sat down with Jason King of Tunnel Productions in L.A. to discuss their new project and what they want to bring to their audience going forward.
“I feel like the time we’re in right now, we just want to have fun with this s—,” said Big Sean. “There’s always going to be a level of consciousness. There’s always going to be a level of thought and intention. But at the same time, it’s just fun.”

Ahead of the EP’s release, Big Sean dropped the music video for his new track “What a Life” off of the album. Directed by Joe Well, the video showcases the Detroit-raised rapper covered in bees, training in the gym, running from a group of brides and more.
