Coachella Will Continue To Take Place in Indio, California Until 2050

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and Stagecoach will both continue to take place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California until 2050.

According to reports, festival organizers Goldenvoice signed a long-term lease with the owners of the Empire Polo Club, extending their original agreement by 20 years. The new lease will give the company control over “year-round operations at the festival site and polo fields estimated to be worth $80 million,” supervision of the Empire Grand Oasis property in Thermal, California and will allow Goldenvoice to host two more three-day festivals every year.

“We are pleased to continue our long- term relationship with Paul Tollett and Goldenvoice,” Alexander Haagen III, owner of the Empire Polo Club, said in a statement. “The new long-term lease will assure that the iconic Coachella and Stagecoach Music Festivals will continue for many years to come and allow Goldenvoice to expand their vast catalog of musical acts on both of Empire’s properties. We wish the very best to AEG, Goldenvoice, and Paul Tollett with their future plans.”

Goldenvoice president Paul Tollett added, “Goldenvoice has had a unique relationship with Empire Polo Club for over twenty-five years. It is a privilege to now take over the operations of the venue and we look forward to continuing to build upon the special history that has been established there. It’s immeasurable how much we’ve learned from Al Haagen.”

City records state that Goldenvoice generates a total of $3.5 million USD for Indio annually, and the organizers are set to return with Coachella on April 15-17 and April 22-24, 2022 after being away from two-years, while Stagecoach will take place on April 29 to May 1, 2022.

Elsewhere in music, Drake’s CLB is projected to be the first rap album of 2021 to spend five weeks at No. 1.
