Horse Racing Betting Tips for Thursday October 28th
STRATFORD 2.05
Early pace is often the key ingredient to finding winners at Stratford and since the spring of 2016 had we bet all the frontrunners at SP we’d have made a profit of £161.60 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those who made the running had a 24% strike-rate (163 winners from 678 qualifiers), prominent racers were next best with a 14.8% strike-rate (286 winners from 1939 runners) and those ridden patiently struggled to make up the ground, winning only 190 of their 2656 starts (7.2%). Pre-race, it’s not always easy to determine who will make the running (only 66 of those 163 all-the-way winners did so on their latest outing) but it will be surprising if the Toby Lawes-trained KAP AUTEUIL is not on the front end in the Class 2 handicap chase over 2m3f (2.05). He’s 10lb higher than when making all at Market Rasen on his final start last term but looks very progressive and his yard had a winner at Fakenham yesterday. He can be bought at 12 in the SpreadEx 50-25-10 spread market or backed at 15-2 in the fixed odds betting.
Recommendation: back KAP AUTEUIL in Strattford 2.05
STRATFORD 3.15
Point-to-point winner SUBLIME HEIGHTS, a stablemate of Kap Auteuil, looks very interesting now switched to fences under Rules for the first time. He raced prominently in his three starts over hurdles, has been well supported overnight and most of his rivals tend to be ridden patiently. At the time of writing he was a well-backed 7-2 shot in the SpreadEx fixed odds betting and could be bought at 19 on the spreads in the 50-30-20-10 race market.
Recommendation: Back SUBLIME HEIGHTS in Stratford 3.15
STRATFORD 3.50
Both of the Toby Lawes runners are ridden by Tom Cannon, whose career mounts in Stratford handicaps have produced a profit (+£10.13 to a £1 level stake at SP). Cannon also has a live chance on the Alan King-trained METHUSALAR in the 3.50 race. The five-year-old was ridden patiently on his latest start but a stalking ride could be just the ticket in this race as there are two out-and-out frontrunners in opposition. Options include buying at 15 with SpreadEx in the 50-25-10 market or backing at 9-2 in their fixed odds market.
Recommendation: Back METHUSALAR in Stratford 3.50
STRATFORD JOCKEYS
Tom Cannon also rides the odds-on favourite CALL OF THE WILD in the 2.40 race and he looks a very attractive buy with SpreadEx in their JOCKEYS market. His spread was set at 31.5-33.5 at the time of writing.
Recommendation: Buy TOM CANNON in Stratford JOCKEYS market
