Enrique Iglesias & Ricky Martin Bring Latin Pop Nostalgia to Miami Concert: Highlights

Enrique Iglesias & Ricky Martin Bring Latin Pop Nostalgia to Miami Concert: Highlights

Wearing an all-denim, bedazzled ensemble, the Colombian pop star then poured his heart out to ballad “Un Año” and “No Hay Nadie Mas.” During his one-hour set, Yatra then got everyone on their feet, singing tracks like “Chica Ideal,” “Robarte Un Beso,” and “Pareja del Año.” Making its grand live debut, he also performed his new, feel-good pop/dance “Tacones Rojos.”

The FTX Arena followed strict no-bags allowed and face masks required for entry. Inside the venue, workers wore their masks and concert-goers removed them as they took their seats.

At 8:30 p.m., Iglesias jumped on stage wearing his signature all-black leather pants, boots, fitted button-up shirt, and cap. He opened his show with energetic songs like “Freak,” “Chasing the Sun,” and “I Like How it Feels.”

“We’re going back, Miami. Taking it old school,” Iglesias said to fans ahead of performing “Bailamos.”

For his set, the singer had a nine-member band and lots of fire shows. He even incorporated hits like Farruko’s “Pepas” and Masked Wolf’s “Astronaut In The Ocean.”

On a second stage, right in the middle of the venue, the Spanish pop star performed his early 2000’s records such as “Cuando Me Enamoro” and “Loco.” “It’s been a year and a half of almost f—ed up s–t. Enjoy tonight,” he said before taking a shot.

While performing “Loco,” Iglesias and his backing vocalist did a whole dramatic telenovela scene, which started off with a kiss and ended up in a reggaeton dance with his song “Me Pase.”

Iglesias then blessed fans with a wave of hits like “Subeme,” “Hero,” “El Perdón,” and “Bailando,” before wrapping up his set at 9:40 p.m. with “I Like It.”

Twenty-seven minutes later, Martin — wearing black gaucho pants and a silky robe — took center stage with “Livin La Vida Loca.” “Are you ready to have a good time, Miami? I know that people know how to dance here,” he said before performing “La Bomba.”

A true showman, the Puerto Rican singer had many outfit changes and a different stage set for each song. He also incorporated various dance performances like live bomba and flamenco. Important to highlight, all of his dance crew wore face masks at all times.

“Good night, Miami, how are you?” he asked the packed house. “I just wanna have a great time. It’s been a very beautiful tour working with Enrique. I want us to forget what it was and focus on what it is and on the future. What it was doesn’t exist. I’m going to leave my soul here.”

Indeed, Martin left his soul (and dance moves) on the stage, singing hits like “Vuelve,” “She Bangs,” “Tu Recuerdo,” “Pegate,” “La Mordidita,” and “Maria.”

Although neither Martin nor Iglesias invited special guests to their shows,  Christina Aguilera appeared on the screen when he performed “Nobody Wants To Be Lonely” and Maluma when he performed “Vente Pa’ Ca.”

“Blessings, Miami, thank you so much!” he said, wearing a black puffer vest and purple jeans for his closing song of “The Cup of Life.”

Up next, Ricky and Enrique’s co-headlining tour, presented by Live Nation, will visit Atlanta, Houston, Phoenix and Los Angeles, to name a few.
