Fans of Yu Suzuki’s Shenmue saga have a new reason to celebrate as visuals for the 13-episode animated series have just been previewed at this year’s New York Comic Con.
Directed by Chikara Sakurai of One Punch Man season 2, Magimoji Rurumo, and Lost Song, the series will also see Yu Suzuki as the executive producer. The original SEGA Dreamcast game with a cult following has not made headlines since its 2019 Shenmue III release which saw record funding through Kickstarter.
Set to be a Crunchyroll and Adult Swim original, fans can expect this series to launch sometime in 2022.
