Red Hot Chili Peppers have shared more details about its upcoming global tour. The band first announced the summer 2022 tour last month with a satirical news broadcast.
For the recent update on the tour, RHCP members returned to its faux news show KHOT to deliver more breaking news.
The tour will kick off in Seville, Spain on June 4 and span over three months, wrapping up at the Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas on September 18. The first month of the tour will see the band making stops throughout major cities in Europe, with shows for the following two months taking place across the United States.
Each show will offer two opening acts. Though combinations of the acts will vary, the lineup includes A$AP Rocky, Anderson .Paak, Thundercat, HAIM, Beck, The Strokes, King Princess and St. Vincent.
Most importantly, RHCP fans will be able to witness guitarist John Frusciante perform with the group again live. Frusciante departed from the band in 2009 before rejoining in 2019. While RHCP had initially prepared to hold a reunion tour in 2021, its plans were derailed due to the pandemic.
Tickets for the tour will go on sale on Friday, October 15th, on Ticketmaster. A special fan pre-sale for the U.S. shows will take place on October 9th.
