Coldplay has another superstar collaboration in the works for their upcoming album, this time teaming up with actress/singer Selena Gomez. The Only Murders in the Building star took to Twitter on Monday (Oct. 4) to announce that she and the English rock band have combined forces on the new song “Let Somebody Go.”
Gomez posted a visual to share the news with her followers, which featured a re-imagined, technicolor version of planet Earth rotating in space, surrounded by dozens of stars. The brief video also gave fans a sneak peek of the track, on which the “Lose You to Love Me” singer and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin sing, “When I called the mathematicians and I asked them to explain/ They said love is only equal to the pain” over a sweeping pop instrumental background.
No official release date for “Let Somebody Go” has been announced yet, though it is slated to appear on Music of Spheres, Coldplay’s forthcoming album set for release on Oct. 15. The band hadn’t shared any additional details about the track on their social accounts at press time.
