Meek Mill stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday evening to perform his new single “Blue Notes 2” alongside his collaborator, Lil Uzi Vert. The duo dropped bars atop a fog-drenched stage, while snippets from their accompanying music video played in the backdrop.
“Blue Notes 2” — the follow-up to Meek’s “Blue Notes” from his DC4 mixtape — will land on the rapper’s upcoming fifth record, Expensive Pain, slated for release on October 1. Meek officially announced the album last week, while also unveiling its corresponding cover art, which was created from an original painting done by renowned artist Nina Chanel Abney. Expensive Pain will also include Meek’s recent collaboration with Lil Baby and Lil Durk, “Sharing Locations.”
The album marks the chart-topper’s first full-length effort since CHAMPIONSHIPS in 2018, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and scored a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album.
Meanwhile, Vert is relishing the recent launch of his collaborative collection with BAPE founder Nigo‘s HUMAN MADE label. The range, which dropped earlier this month, includes a slew of pink and white T-shirts, long-sleeves and hoodies fronting dual branding motifs.
