Sweden’s X-Shore has just released its new flagship all-electric boat — the Eelex 8000.
This 100% electric-powered boat lends itself to minimal design and is made with sustainable materials. Inspired by electric eels, the knifefish’s colors make their way onto the vessel as light brown, brown, olive, and turquoise. Materials like flax fiber, recycled plastic, and cork greatly reduce the Eelex’s impact on the environment and noise aboard the ship.
The Eelex 8000 is powered by a 225-kilowatt engine and can reach speeds of 30 knots with a range of 100 nautical miles. Owners can also sync their Garmin MARQ watch with the X Shore app to not only use as a key but to display info like distance, speed, battery life, range, and warnings. Priced at $320,000 USD, X-Shore will only be building 400 units.
