Following its first official gameplay trailer one year ago, Game Science is back with another 13-minute preview of Black Myth: Wukong that’s even more stunning than the first. The game is based on the legend of Sun Wukong (The Monkey King) and takes heavy inspiration from the original 16th-century Chinese novel Journey to the West.
The new gameplay trailer shows new character abilities such as a split-shadow dash, a protective ring of fire, and new super skills. More than a dozen new foes are also on display including a magnificent white dragon gliding over a vast frozen lake at 6:25. Beautifully designed scenes are rendered in photorealistic quality for truly breathtaking moments.
The studio, founded by a group of former Tencent Games employees, switched development from the Unreal Engine 4 to the latest Unreal Engine 5 with technical support from Epic Games. The upcoming RPG runs 4K resolution at 60 fps and supports NVIDIA ray-tracing, NVIDIA DLSS, and Dolby Atmos.
Black Myth: Wukong is expected to arrive as a one-time purchase sometime in 2023 for PC, Sony Playstation 5, and Microsoft Xbox Series X/S. Head over to the IGN Youtube channel for a full trailer breakdown.
