Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion are teasing fans with a potential reunion of a WAP follow-up. Over the weekend, the Grammy-award-winning rappers celebrated the one-year anniversary of “WAP” for their polarizing collaborative track.
The song turned heads when it first came out, both garnering over 1,000 complaints and receiving high praise and support from those who sought it to be a double dose of raunchy and empowering. In the celebratory tweet, Cardi wrote, “Wow I can’t believe wappity WAP turned one today. It don’t even feel like it. What a record! @theestallion we should do it again sometime.”
Megan later responded, thanking the rapper for inviting her on the track, even expressing that it might be time to do another collaborative project, “Happy WAPIVERSARY[.] Thank you for having me. I think the people deserve another collab.” Other celebrities like Halle Berry also took to Twitter to congratulate the two on the one-year “wapiversary” of the ever-popular track. The song went six times platinum and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, in addition to securing numerous awards.
