Toyota Celebrates 70 Years of the Land Cruiser With New Anniversary Edition

Toyota‘s tank of an SUV, the Land Cruiser is celebrating its 70th anniversary with a limited edition version.

Based on the 70 Series that is still being sold in regions like the United Arab Emirates, Africa, Australia, and South America, the J70 is truly the embodiment of the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” proverb. Available in some classic colors like French Vanilla, Merlot Red, and Sandy Taupe, the 70th-anniversary model features a black grille with throwback badge work, blacked-out headlight housings, fender arches, and lower fascia. Other details like black 16-inch wheels, LED lighting, updated black interior, chrome accents, and retro branding complete the look.

Powering the off-roader is a 4.5-liter turbodiesel V8 that puts down 203 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. This is matched with a five-speed manual gearbox that has both front and rear differential locks. Limited to 600 examples for the Australian market, the 70th Anniversary Toyota Land Cruiser will be split into 320 double-cab pickups, 200 single-cab trucks, and 80 wagons. They will be priced at around $80,000 AUD (approximately $60,000 USD). Head over to Toyota for more info.
