Amidst anticipation for the return of its anime, Shueisha‘s Bleach is now set to receive a special manga chapter to celebrate its 20th-anniversary. Written and illustrated by Tite Kubo, the Bleach manga came to an end August 22, 2016 with 698 chapters collected into 74 volumes. Since its debut in 2001, the series has sold over 120 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling manga of all time.
The upcoming special chapter is expected to feature 73 pages and will appear in the combined Weekly Shōnen Jump issue #36/37 set to release August 10. Although not much more is known about the special 20th-anniversary chapter, some fans are theorizing it could center around Kazui Kurosaki, the son of Ichigo Kurosaki and Orihime Inoue, and Ichika Abarai, the daughter of Rukia Kuchiki and Renji Abarai, who both were revealed following The Thousand-Year Blood War Arc.
