The Teenage Cancer Trust is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its Royal Albert shows with a special exhibition and auction that will feature at Maddox Gallery‘s Westbourne Grove location. Having been delayed a year due to the pandemic, “ONE OF A KIND” is curated by prolific graphic designer, Tom Hingston, who has commissioned 21 artists to make 21 artworks that will be printed, signed and available for auction.
The original event is a week-long initiative that brings fans and musicians together to celebrate and raise money for young people undergoing treatment.
“Music is in the DNA of Teenage Cancer Trust and ONE OF A KIND is a true celebration of our established links with the music industry. The funds raise will be a real lifeline for young people with cancer, many of whom have been at particular risk from coronavirus, and have faced more uncertainty and isolation than ever before,” Hingston previously said.
Amongst the many notable artists, “ONE OF A KIND” includes Anthony Burrill, David Shrigley, Ill Studio and Chrissie Abbott. The auction has already raised nearly £25,000 GBP ($34,370 USD) and runs from July 22 to 31. All prints will come unframed and be shipped out starting in September.
Elsewhere in art, Maddox Gallery is also showcasing a promising list of new artists at the DYSMORPHIA group show in Los Angeles.
