Dame Dash Kicks off Auction for Roc-A-Fella Share and ‘Reasonable Doubt’ Asset Despite Lawsuit

Dame Dash Kicks off Auction for Roc-A-Fella Share and ‘Reasonable Doubt’ Asset Despite Lawsuit

Dame Dash has begun the auction for his Roc-A-Fella, Inc. share and “its sole asset,” JAY-Z‘s Reasonable Doubt, with a starting bid of $10 million USD.

According to reports, the auction includes his one-third share in the legendary record label and and NFT entitled “It’s the Roc,” which has a “representing certificate of ownership” of the stake. “Damon Dash is auctioning his 1/3 interest in Roc-A-Fella Inc, which owns ‘Reasonable Doubt,’ Jay-Z’s first album,” the auction site reads. “Own a moment in time when ‘Reasonable Doubt’ changed hip-hop culture. The album that influenced and touched so many lives.”

Dash kicked off the auction in the midst of a lawsuit, which saw JAY-Z sue his former Roc-A-Fella partner in an attempt to stop him from pushing through with the first auction. The sale, which involved an NFT of Reasonable Doubt, was originally blocked by a court in late June, and a judge later declared that Dash had the legal right to sell his share in Roc-A-Fella but not a part of Reasonable Doubt.

“’Reasonable Doubt’ set the trajectory for the future of Roc-A-Fella, represented everything we were doing at the moment,” Dash said in the video, never naming Hov. “It was the voice of us. It’s still one of my favorite albums of all time.”

Elsewhere in music, Kanye West officially announced the release date of DONDA.
