Ahead of the Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins premiere on July 23, Paramount Pictures has shared an up-close look at the titular character, played by Henry Golding, exclusively with HYPEBEAST.
“This is not your way,” Golding says while fighting off foes in the brief character piece. “This is mine.”
The thrilling teaser highlights the unwavering fearlessness of the namesake lead, who is described as “a tenacious loner who is welcomed into an ancient Japanese clan called the Arashikage after saving the life of their heir apparent,” according to the film’s official synopsis.
“Upon arrival in Japan, the Arashikage teach Snake Eyes the ways of the ninja warrior while also providing something he’s been longing for: a home,” the film’s description continues. “But, when secrets from his past are revealed, Snake Eyes’ honor and allegiance will be tested – even if that means losing the trust of those closest to him.”
The Robert Schwentke-directed film also stars Úrsula Corberó as the evil Cobra’s Baroness, Andrew Koji as Storm Shadow, Samara Weaving as Scarlett, Haruka Abe as Akiko, Takehiro Hira as Kenta and Iko Uwais as Hard Master. The action-packed screenplay was co-written by Evan Spiliotopoulos, Anna Waterhouse and Joe Shrapnel, with producing credits given to Brian Goldner, Erik Howsam and Lorenzo di Bonaventura.
