Netflix has released the trailer for the third film in its thrilling Fear Street horror trilogy, Fear Street Part Three: 1666, ahead of its premiere on Friday, July 16.
The three films have been released over the course of three weeks — Part One: 1994 premiered on July 2 and Part Two: 1978 released on July 9 — and together, they uncover the sinister history of Shadyside, a downtrodden Ohio town plagued with a haunted past, through a series of terrifying events.
In the final chapter of the anthology — based on R.L. Stine‘s best-selling books under the same moniker — the group of teenagers from the first film (Part One: 1994) travel back to the titular 1666 to unearth the twisted truths behind the witch Sarah Fier and her centuries-spanning wrath on Shadyside’s residents.
The latest addition succeeds Fear Street Part Two: 1978, starring Stranger Things staple Sadie Sink, which riffs on the classic narrative of a haunted sleepaway camp and bands counselors and campers together to solve a mystery in the face of horror.
Directed by Leigh Janiak, Part Three: 1666 stars Kiana Madeira, Olivia Scott Welch, Benjamin Flores, Jr., Gillian Jacobs, Emily Rudd, Maya Hawke, Ashley Zuckerman, Ryan Simpkins and more. Janiak also directed the first two installments and co-wrote all three screenplays with Phil Graziadei for Part One: 1994; Zak Olkewicz for Part Two: 1978; and Phil Graziadei and Kate Trefry for Part Three: 1666.
