Celtic are reportedly considering a move for Brighton goalkeeper Mat Ryan this summer.
According to reports from Sky Sports, the Bhoys are eyeing a move for the 29-year-old goalkeeper who is expected to leave the club.
After a disappointing 2020-21 campaign, Celtic are looking to rebuild under new manager Ange Postecoglou. Signing a new goalkeeper is a priority for the Hoops and Postecoglou is keen to work with Ryan again following their time together with the Australia national side.
At this moment, no formal discussion has taken place between both parties. His contract at Brighton is up next summer, and a move away from the club is likely.
The 29-year-old wants to be a first-choice keeper at his next club, and therefore he is weighing up his options carefully before deciding on a move.
Ryan spent the second half of last season on loan at Arsenal, where he played just three games.
Sky Sports claim that the Gunners want to sign him on a permanent deal. Clubs in Spain and France are also interested in signing the goalkeeper who is on £35k-per-week deal at Brighton.
A move to Arsenal will offer him the chance to play in the Premier League but will he get regular games?
On the other hand, Parkhead could be an attractive destination for him, as Celtic looking to undergo a massive rebuilding process to challenge Rangers next season.
He has plenty of football left in him, and he could be the first-choice goalkeeper at Celtic.
