In a recent interview with Billboard, Offset said the trio are still waiting for the world to acknowledge their impact. “We made this trap [style] go pop,” he said. “They don’t talk about that. We made trap go pop talking about selling pounds and bricks, and we hit Billboard No. 1. Hip-hop artists weren’t going No. 1 like that, but now it just be ‘bang, bang, bang.'”
Maybe so, though the charts tell a different story. Migos’ 2017 album Culture and 2018’s Culture II both led the Billboard 200 chart, and their hit “Bad And Boujee” featuring Lil Uzi Vert went to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in January 2017.
