Gaga and Driver play Patrizia Reggiani and Maurizio Gucci, respectively, in the Ridley Scott-directed biographical crime film, which tells the story of how Reggiani was tried and convicted of organizing the assassination of her ex-husband and former head of the Gucci fashion house. Roberto Bentivegna’s script is based on Sara Gay Forden’s book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed.
Joining the all-star cast is Al Pacino as Aldo Gucci, Jared Leto as Paolo Gucci, Jeremy Irons as Rodolfo Gucci, and Camille Cottin as Paola Franchi. Filming for House of Gucci began in Rome in February.
The Chromatica singer’s latest acting gig serves as a follow-up to her feature film debut in A Star Is Born in 2018. She and her “Shallow” collaborators Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando and Andrew Wyatt won an Oscar for best original song in 2019. She also earned a nod for best actress. Driver, on the other hand, was nominated for best actor at the 2020 Academy Awards for his role in Marriage Story.
House of Gucci is scheduled to be released in theaters on Nov. 24.
