Several reports last October claimed that English midfielder Jack Wilshere was in advanced talks with Scottish Premiership giants Rangers over a move to Ibrox.

The 29-year-old was released by West Ham United on summer transfer deadline day after the final months of the three-year £100,000-a-week contract he signed in the summer of 2018 was cancelled, and a move to Ibrox was rumoured.
However, he joined Championship side Bournemouth earlier this month on a deal till the end of the season having been a free agent since October, and he has addressed those Rangers rumours on Twitter during a Q & A session.
When asked whether Light Blues manager Steven Gerrard got in touch with him concerning a move to the Scottish Premiership giants, Wilshere replied:
Nope! https://t.co/XVZZqLroNc

While Wilshere could have been huge signing for Rangers, taking a risk and gamble by signing a player that played just 19 times since the beginning of 2018-19 might have backfired.
His wages might have also been a stumbling block, and the Light Blues have done very fine so far.
Rangers are currently 20 points ahead of second-placed Celtic who have two games in hand, and they are expected to stroll to league victory after their brilliant start to the campaign.
Wilshere will now hope to return to the Premier League with Bournemouth by helping them secure immediate promotion, and it will be interesting to see whether that will happen.
