8 Mile actor Nashawn Breedlove’s cause of death has been revealed.
According to an autopsy report from New Jersey’s Office of the Chief State Medical Examiner (via People), Breedlove died of acute intoxication from fentanyl, acetyl fentanyl, cocaine, and ethanol. The death was ruled as accidental.
Breedlove died in his sleep on September 24th at the age of 46 in his New Jersey home.
At the time, Breedlove’s mother Patricia released a statement confirming his death. “Nashawn was a rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor. No one could deny his talent,” she wrote. “Nashawn’s departure from this world has left an immense void in my life, one that words cannot fully express.”
She continued, “I can’t put into words the pain and hurt that I feel. He was not just my son; he was a remarkable man whose character and strength inspired all who crossed his path.”

Breedlove was best known for battle-rapping against Eminem in 8 Mile. He played a rapper named Lotto in the movie, facing off against Eminem’s B-Rabbit in the second round of a pivotal freestyle battle.
Before appearing in 8 Mile, he rapped under the name OX, landing a feature on the soundtrack to 2001’s The Wash starring Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.
