7 Nigerian songs you should listen to this week (DEC. 14 – 19)

7 Nigerian songs you should listen to this week (DEC. 14 – 19)

The last weekend we have some fantastic new Nigerian songs released by several Naija musicians. We have music from the likes of Naira Marley, Mr P, etc.

It was also a weekend of albums as DJ Spinall released his ‘Grace‘ album, Tekno dropped his debut ‘Old Romance‘ and Zinoleesky slipped in his ‘Chrome’ (Eccentric) EP for fans.

We noticed that most of the songs released over the weekend had some Amapiano influence and many more Nigerian artistes are exploring the sound. However, we picked out some of the best songs released over the weekend that we think you should listen to and also add to your music playlist.

1. Mr P – Follow My Lead ft Wande Coal

Peter Okoye better known as Mr P released the first single from his debut solo album ‘The Prodigal‘ expected early next year.

You know Mr P as energetic and that’s how the track feels from the first time you hear it.

It was a beauty to hear Wande Coal’s voice laced on the track.

This is our number 1 song you should check out. LISTEN HERE

2. Chinko Ekun – Share Location

With all the stress we have encountered this year, it is very important if you take out some time to unwind and have fun.

Chinko Ekun on ‘Share Location’, tells us to try and have fun ‘as problem no dey finish’.

The beat on this one is heavy, something that would get you to loosen up quickly. LISTEN HERE

3. Naira Marley – Koleyewon

Marlian Music boss returned with a double dose of music releasing two tracks at once.

However, we love one of the tracks ‘Koleyewon’, a form of protest music from the singer.

Naira Marley speaks against police brutality in his song, a video was also released which showed a tribute to the victims of Sars brutality.

He also highlights the situation of the country especially in respect to insecurity. LISTEN HERE

4. Tekno – In Love

Finally, Tekno released his debut album ‘Old Romance’ after nearly 8 years of anticipation.

The album has 14 tracks on it without a single feature.

One of the tracks we love from the album is the highlife love song titled ‘In Love’ produced by Spax. LISTEN HERE

5. Zinoleesky – Angeli

This is one special tune you should listen to this week from Zinoleesky titled ‘Angeli’.

It is a favourite from Zinoleesky’s debut extended play released recently.

Zino has a message for his muse as he sets out to hustle and make more money.

It was produced by Sparkzy Beats. LISTEN HERE

6. Ayanfe – What’s Going On? ft Mayorkun

Talented singer Ayanfe dropped a hot new track with Mayorkun titled ‘What’s Going On?’ a potential club banger.

Ayanfe like most of his colleagues explores the raving Amapiano sound in the Nigerian music scene.

Hopefully, this tune would be rocking the clubs in no time. LISTEN HERE

7. Tekno – Tumbo

While we are still enjoying every track from Tekno’s album, there are some songs that have become instant favourites.

One of such tracks is ‘Tumbo’, the track is named after a local brew enjoyed during leisure.

Just as the name would already indicate it is the perfect song to play in the background while you catch fun with friends. LISTEN HERE
