6 Affordable Brands That Actually Make My Wardrobe Look Expensive

quiet luxury outfit

There is nothing I take greater pleasure in than dressing in expensive-looking outfits. I’m not the only one (obviously). With the quiet luxury trend dominating the fashion set all of 2023 and most likely all of 2024, it’s safe to say that we all like looking rich. I’ve always been a big proponent of dressing/styling yourself as a tool for manifesting. That saying, “Dress for the job you want, not the job you have” encompasses what I’m talking about. It’s about dressing for your dream life. While right now, I don’t have a multimillion-dollar apartment in Tribeca, at least I can dress like I do—which is less expensive than you think. There are certain affordable brands I keep in my back pocket when I’m going for a luxe look but don’t exactly have a luxe budget.

Don’t worry. I’m letting you in on the top six affordable but expensive-looking brands that I swear by.

Reformation

I would award Ref with the “brand I wear the most” award. I can’t get enough of it. With sustainability at the forefront of its mission, Reformation is guilt-free shopping. Plus, everything it makes contours and flatters the body so well. Since its clothes are made from high-quality fabric with super-elevated designs, it’s no wonder this brand has so many celebrity fans. Not to mention one of my favorite dresses from Reformation is $98.

J.Crew

J.Crew is the gift that keeps on giving. With so many chic options, it was hard to narrow it down to my favorites. I’m absolutely obsessed with the white linen-blend vest I’ve linked below. I’m already starting to think of styling ideas.

Abercrombie & Fitch

After having one of the biggest rebrands of 2023, Abercrombie is staying top of mind for 2024. Its pieces have been impressing me lately, especially picks like the scalloped blue dress I’ve linked below. That dress is just begging to be worn to a rooftop in spring.

Aritzia

A brand I have loved since high school. You can’t really go wrong with Aritzia pieces. They’re always current and made with high-quality fabrics, so I know whenever I place an order, I’ll end up happy when it arrives. The brand has been really elevating a lot of its designs lately. Plus, everything looks more expensive than it is.

Madewell

Everyone’s favorite denim brand has become one of my quiet luxury go-to brands, especially when it comes to accessories. I swear by Madewell belts. This is the perfect one-stop shop for expensive-looking basics.

COS

If you’re looking for something that’s easy but polished, then look no further than COS. This brand is known for its super-luxe-looking pieces at a price my wallet likes. I listed a pair of ballet flats below that I can’t believe is under $200.
