Yotuel Romero, one of the Cuban artists leading the #SOSCuba Movement, was invited to the White House this week to speak directly with President Joe Biden about the recent protests in Cuba and his administration’s response, including new sanctions on Cuban leaders and establishing internet access for Cubans, Billboard has learned. Both the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the U.S. Representative Florida’s 10th Congressional District shared photos on Twitter of their meet-up with the Cuban artist, who helms the movement’s anthem “Patria y Vida” in collaboration with Gente de Zona.
Ivy Queen’s History on Reggaeton
Reggaeton’s finest, Ivy Queen, will host Spotify’s upcoming LOUD podcast, telling the history and evolution of reggaeton through “on-the-ground reporting spanning countries all across the globe,” a press release states. Ivy will be joined by special guests including J Balvin, Nicky Jam, Bad Bunny, Ozuna, Karol G, Wisin Y Yandel, Maluma, and more. Introducing LOUD: The History of Reggaeton premieres with a two-episode special on Aug. 4 and with new episodes released every week.

Two months after dropping his sophomore album, El Niño, where he included his first-ever collaborative effort with Anitta, Lunay officially presents the music video for “Todo o Nada.” The highly-awaited music clip not only highlights both the Puerto Rican and Brazilian artists’ chemistry but takes fans into a video game-inspired journey as Lunay tries to save the life of his lady interest. “We filmed it very fast in Miami,” Lunay previously said to Billboard. “I’m very happy with the song, the TikTok dances, we want to show people that this isn’t only a song, but it has a dynamic and it’s enjoyable. Silvestre Dangond Supports Locals
Silvestre Dangond has launched a new label, Music Dreams Records, to help propel the careers of rising and veteran vallenato artists in his native Colombia, Billboard exclusively announced this week.The 41-year-old vallenato star has already signed six artists to the label, including Mario Fuscaldo, Beto Urieles, LuisRa Solano, Rafa Roncallo, Fred Quintero and Roland Valbuena. Dangond will also manage and produce some of his newly signed artists.
“When soccer players retire, they prepare to become coaches for other players,” Dangond said in a statement. “That’s how I feel. I don’t actually plan on retiring soon but I do want to help and guide other artists and give them that confidence that we all need in this industry.”
