Capcom has announced that it’s putting out upgrades for its Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes, as well as Resident Evil 7 later in 2022. The updates will arrive on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, and will be free for existing owners of the games.
Alongside overall visual enhancements, new features will include ray tracing, a high frame rate mode and support for 3D audio. PS5 owners will additionally receive access to DualSense, giving them haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support.
On Xbox, the updated version of the game will automatically be played once it becomes available via the console’s Smart Delivery. For PC and PS5, the revamped version will simply be delivered in an update.
According to a report from Fanbyte, more Resident Evil updates are currently in the works, starting with Resident Evil 4.
