21 Savage is upping the ante on his American Dream release. Today, the rapper announced there’s an American Dream-themed album arriving as well. His third studio album, dubbed American Dream, is expected to drop everywhere later this week.
21 took to Instagram to drop off American Dream‘s cover art, which comes a day after the rapper officially announced his American Dream: The 21 Savage Story biopic. The film stars Donald Glover and Stranger Things‘ Caleb McLaughlin, each of whom will play Savage at different points in his life. The film also features Natasha Lyonne, Jabari Banks, Victoria Pedretti, Young Mazino, Chad Lindberg, Gail Bean and Druski, and is set to include new music as well.
As the press release so astutely notes: “Savage Season is upon us.” American Dream marks Savage’s first solo studio album since i am > i was, which won the rapper a couple Grammys in 2018. No “official” tracklist has surfaced, though the cover art seems to impose a handful of track titles in the background.
The album is slated to land on streaming everywhere this Friday, January 12. Tune back into Hypebeast after it drops.
