With two and a half rounds remaining and a bizarre leaderboard headlining the 2023 Players Championship, it’s still anyone’s ballgame. Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Adam Svensson lead at 8 under after two days of action, but Collin Morikawa and Scottie Scheffler are just behind them and still on the course ready to finish up their second rounds as play continues Saturday.
Viktor Hovland and Jason Day, who did finish their second rounds, are both four back of the lead. This with the second round wrapping up in the morning ahead of Round 3 beginning Saturday afternoon.
There’s so much golf left to be played, and as we’ve seen at TPC Sawgrass over the last few years, anything can happen over the next two days. Will we really get an underdog champion? Will one of the best players in the world pull out the victory? Will we get a “Justin Thomas in 2021” situation where somebody goes nuts on the weekend and wins from way back in the field?
