2021 Stellar Gospel Music Awards: Full Winners List

Tasha Cobbs Leonard and Jonathan McReynolds each won three awards each during the show.

Leonard took the Albertina Walker female vocalist of the year award, contemporary female vocalist of the year and praise and worship album of the year, all for her album Royalty: Live at the Ryman.

McReynolds, who co-hosted the 2020 Stellar Awards, won male vocalist of the year, contemporary male vocalist of the year and shared the award for producer of the year, all for his album People.

Maverick City Music, J.J. Hairston, Jekalyn Carr and Kierra Sheard each received two awards.

Tye Tribbett and Carr hosted the event and also performed on the show. Other performers were Yolanda Adams, Avery*Sunshine, Tamela Mann, Jason Clayborn, Hezekiah Walker, CeCe Winans and several of the night’s top winners.

Lady Tramaine Hawkins received the Aretha Franklin icon award for her contributions to gospel music. Hawkins hosted or co-hosted three of the first four Stellar Awards shows in the ’80s.

This year’s show will air on BET on Sunday, Aug. 1, at 8 p.m. ET, 5 p.m. PT. The show will also air on BET HER and BET Gospel that day and on BET International on Aug. 2.

The Stellar Gospel Music Awards show was executive produced by Don Jackson, with Jennifer J. Jackson serving as executive in charge of production and producer. Michael A. Johnson produced and directed this year’s award show.

Founded in 1970 by Don Jackson, Chicago-based Central City Productions, Inc. is a distributor of original targeted programming to television and cable networks.
